Often we can be paralyzed by our mental and emotional spirals that keep us bound to circumstances, relationships, beliefs and patterns. Writing can be a useful and powerful tool for achieving our goals of emotional freedom.
Penning words to paper can help us work through emotions, envision a future, or discover a solution to a long-term problem. When you're seeking freedom from your own chains of thought or are oppressed with uninspiring situations, try some of these writing methods for relief.
Journaling: Writing your thoughts and feelings without judgment enables you to explore and understand yourself better. Journaling also helps you process your emotions so you can feel past them to clarity.
Writing Letters: If you're specifically holding in anger, resentment, or grief, writing a letter to the person or people involved, even if you never send it, can be incredibly therapeutic in releasing that emotion and clearing your mind and heart.
Grateful Lists: Taking time throughout the day or at one point of your day to write the experiences, facts, or emotions that you are grateful for, can keep you centered and grounded during both wonderful and chaotic times.
Reflecting on Past Successes: Reminding yourself of all you've accomplished, overcome, and developed over time, can remind you of your resiliency and dedication to your goals. Being able to refer to these writings during tough times can also keep your flame of inner strength alive.
Problem Solving: Having a place to write down all the potential solutions or outcomes for a specific situation can drive the proper analysis to a best path forward. In doing so you can feel more prepared for what might happen, and increase your confidence in facing the unknown.
Visualizing the Future: Writing about how you see your life being in the near or distant future can highlight your values, heartfelt desires, and inspiration to plan and achieve that vision.
Writing has what can turn out to be extraordinary uses in our daily lives. So the next time you find yourself on the road of doubt and disappointment, walk yourself towards that mental and emotional freedom through the power of the written word. Unearth your endearing creativity, strength, and uniqueness and share that you with the world as you see fit.
