Wisdom Writing with a Toy Dinosaur

Aside from the normal writing I do regularly, I like to release all structure and write about something benign or fun or different than my usual content. This past weekend I found a toy dinosaur to be my muse and started writing without any plan in mind. Limiting my time to five minutes, the below is a portion of what came up.

I am a mighty dinosaur. I knew Mother Earth long before mankind. I loved living on Mother Earth. It was raw, adventurous, peaceful, and grand. People may think we weren't smart - yet we communed with Mother Earth like all animals. Humans should be so fortunate. I miss the food Mother Earth provided. Plants have evolved and not all of them exist any more. The massive variety of dinosaurs like us was fascinating now that I look back...

As part of Wisdom Writing, I like to objectively review the writing to see what I can learn about myself. In the above excerpt, I found it interesting that I took on the perspective of the dinosaur rather than being an observer of it. I admire the connection pets and wildlife have with Mother Earth and the simplicity of that life. Also, the theme of love for Mother Earth is definitely me coming through in the dinosaur - I enjoy being in and noticing the outdoors. Perhaps I could use more outdoor time, or I am enjoying the Autumn season's beauty too.

It doesn't take much to generate a deeper self-understanding through writing. Like I said above, I hope you find some inner gem(s) as you write and unearth your inner wisdom.
